The Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is the index that approximately measures a person’s intelligence compared to the rest of the population. Each person’s IQ is measured by various methods, which usually include tests with specific questions or procedures with specific objects.
Essentially, for many, IQ should also measure how well you can use information and logic to answer questions or make predictions.
More generally, it is believed that some people are born with a high IQ, but even so they must adhere to a “routine” that allows them to develop and improve their cognitive abilities.
Because, to be honest, intelligence is something that is (essentially) “built”.
Psychologists, however, agree that the daily habits of people with low IQ tend to “delay” rather than help the development of intelligence.
However, some psychologists agree that there are seven habits that may indicate that a person has a low IQ.
What are these habits?
A daily habit of people with low IQ is more about what they don’t do than what they do.
People with low IQ avoid testing themselves. So instead of choosing the most difficult tasks and seeing how far they can get, they take the path of least “effort”.
Furthermore, they avoid solving problems and tend to accept negative outcomes as something they cannot change.
A sign of high intelligence is a propensity for problem solving; in contrast, people with low IQs let the fear of failure keep them from getting involved in complex situations.
People with low IQ tend to have a limited sense of curiosity.
They lack interest in pushing themselves to learn new things or ideas, which can make them feel stuck in one place.
In the same context as above, people with low IQ do not read as often as people with higher levels of intelligence.
The act of reading works like exercise: it keeps people’s brains active and improves critical thinking skills. This is something that does not concern people with low IQ.
People with low IQ have poor time management skills, which hinders their ability to get things done. They are easily distracted and tend to procrastinate, especially when it comes to tackling important tasks.
People with low IQ do not question what they have been taught to believe throughout their lives.
They accept the world as it is, through their limited perspective. They ask neither “why” nor “how”.
Finally, people with low IQ don’t want to step out of their comfort zone and learn new skills. The very idea of learning scares them, so they stay where they are. They prefer to settle even more into their normal routine rather than shake things up and reach their personal extremes.
