The EOF draws consumers’ attention to the fact that an illegal weight loss preparation containing the active pharmaceutical ingredient semaglutide is being trafficked.
As reported in a note from the EOF, according to the notification of the Austrian and Estonian authorities, illegal trafficking of the preparation Intex-Sema for weight loss or increased physical activity was carried out. As informed by the Austrian authorities, the product was marketed via the website https://intexpharmashop.com/shop/ of the IntexPharma company.
This product states on the packaging that it contains the active pharmaceutical ingredient semaglutide, which became known thanks to the illegal promotion of a well-known drug for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, without having been approved, i.e. without having been evaluated for its safety and effectiveness.
Please remember that purchasing prescription pharmaceutical products via websites usually results in the supply of fake/counterfeit products. Most of the information on these websites is misleading.
Consumers/patients are advised not to under any circumstances purchase medicines from the Internet or other unreliable sources, as there is a serious risk to their health.
